There’s no other way to start the training week off than with some SQUATS! We will be building to a heavy set of 5 back squat for 3 sets on Monday and then playing in some “Dirty Water.” This for time work out is a fast paced triplet workout with high rep scheme of double unders, running and calories on the rower. Tuesday you’ll be hitting a light and long chipper style workout with an AMRAP 20 of kettlebell swings, push presses, cals on the assault bike and toes to bar. “Frank The Tank,” comes into rotation on Wednesday. This AMRAP 5 of wall balls, deadlifts and lateral barbell burpees repeats 3 times with a 5 min rest in between. Each AMRAP the rep scheme goes down, but the weight on the barbell goes up. Thursday all you’ll need is running shoes as we take on “Team Tosh Sprints.” This is a partner workout of 3 rounds of increasing running distances. “Crazy Stairs,” which consists of 10 rounds of “Cindy”, calories on the rower, and 30 power snatches is our Friday WOD. Saturday we get to work in teams of 3 in “Runaway Train.” This workout has a time cap of 30 minutes as teams go through 3 rounds of a 400m run and calories on the assault bike then directly into clean and jerks that increase in weight every 21 reps.
FROM COMPTRAIN MINDSET:
The fact of the matter, is that it’s just my opinion.” Benjamin Franklin**
Have you ever caught yourself saying, “Well the fact of the matter is…”?
Sometimes we can be so sure of something, that we forget that it’s actually not a fact. That it is truthfully just our opinion.
One of the most important character traits we can practice is the separation of our ego. We can hold such strong beliefs, that we can blind ourselves to other perspectives. To continue to grow into the next best version of ourselves, Franklin’s quote brings us back to the basics of humility. Always an open mind. Always a student.
