Our hearts are with our sister city of El Paso after yesterday’s horrific events.
Heads up! Our 6:30 pm class is cancelled this week, sorry for any inconvenience. We will be back to normal the following week.
Our Monday starts with the build up of a snatch complex. Then we will hit “Rocket Power,” a for time workout of lateral barbell burpees, power snatches and overhead squats with a descending rep scheme of 21-15-9. “Monkey Business,” comes into play on Tuesday with 4 rounds of 400m run, dumbbell hang clean and jerk and pullups. Wednesday we will light up the legs with a strength piece of deadlifts, building to a heavy set of 6, 4 and 2. Then we will power through to “Optimus Prime,” which is an AMRAP 7 of wall balls, but you’ll perform 5 deadlifts EMOM style. Thursday we get to slow it down and work rope climbs during our skill practice, then hop into “Hip Hop,” which is a 1 mile run into “Annie.” Friday’s views will be “Blockbuster,” which consists of 3 AMRAP 5’s separated by 5 minutes of rest, of calories on the assault bike and max rounds of “The Chief.” Our big workout on Saturday is “31 Heroes,” which is a team of 2 heavy grunt work with thrusters, rope climbs, box jumps and continuous wreck bag runs.
FROM COMPTRAIN MINDSET:
“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” – Albert Einstein**
We don’t get what we want.
We get what we expect.
The world will treat us the way we expect to be treated. If we believe it’s “dog eat dog”, and “every man for himself”, then we are doomed to believe so. The lens we’ll see through will be of defensiveness, comparison, and general hostility… even when it’s not even there to begin with.
But the opposite can also be true.
Our expectations become our realities.
It’s not good enough to want it. We have to believe it.
