For this weeks overview of April 8th through 13th 2019, we start Monday off building to a heavy 3 rep Power Clean then try not to get “Black and Blue” in this conditioning piece with Power Cleans and Burpees. On Tuesday we have a Fight Gone Bad style workout called “Bad Blood”. Look forward to Wallballs, Push Presses and Assault bike for calories. Wednesday we will see another strength session building to a heavy 3 rep Front Squat. Then the conditioning will consist of Front Squats, Chest to Bar Pullups and Double Unders called “Heartbreak Kid”. Then on Thursday we will perform a CrossFit benchmark workout called “Christine” that has Rowing, Box Jumps and uses our bodyweight for the deadlift portion of the WOD. For Friday we will need some “TNT” to get us going after Thursday. In this barbell only workout there will be Snatches, Clean & Jerks and Thrusters. Saturday’s WOD will be a mix of CompTrain and some weightlifting. First we are going to take 15 minutes each to build to a heavy Snatch and Clean & Jerk then perform a bodyweight workout named “Tip Toe” which has running, Toes to Bar and Burpees.
FROM COMPTRAIN MINDSET:
Pablo Picasso, the famous Spanish artist, was walking through the market one day when a young woman spotted him and ran over. She asked with great excitement and admiration for him to draw a picture for her as she handed over a piece of paper.
Pablo smiled, and obliged. He quickly drew a small, but beautiful, piece of art on the tiny piece of paper.
Absolutely stunned by the speed of such quality drawing, she asks – “But, Mr. Picasso, how is that possible? That only took you thirty seconds to draw this masterpiece!”
Pablo smiled again, and replied “My good woman, it took me 30 years to draw that masterpiece in thirty seconds.”
As we grow, give ourselves permission to create junk. To be able to laugh off mistakes, and get better through their lessons learned. We all want to thrive and do well, 100% of the time. But our own judgement, can become our worst enemy. Judge less, and practice more. That’s the secret sauce.
