For this week’s overview of January 14th through the 19th 2019, we start Monday off with an AMRAP style workout and cozy up for a “Double Date” with Hang Power Snatches, Double Unders, Overhead Squats and Rowing. On Tuesday, look forward to a two part workout creating a “Chain Reaction” with the Assault Bike, Pullups, Power Cleans and Push Jerks. Then on Wednesday we get an Old School buddy “Frank the Tank” dropping in to get after three 5 minute AMRAPs of Wallballs, Deadlifts and Lateral Barbell Burpees. Thursday’s workout has Strict Press and strict movements which are the focus of this two part workout. We start off with some strength work and build to a heavy Strict Press then put your “Body Armor” on for Strict Toes to Bar, Strict Presses and Walking Lunges. For Friday, we are going to need some “Sea Legs” to complete this little ditty of Rowing, Front Squats and Box Jump Overs. Finally, on Saturday we close the week out with “Road Rash”, an individual workout where it pays to be consistent on each round of this every 5 minute for 5 rounds of Dumbbell Clean and Jerks, Dumbbell Snatches, Chest to Bar Pullups and Assault Bike.
From CompTrain Mindset
“People fail to achieve mastery, not because they aren’t talented, but because they aren’t disciplined.” – Daniel Ping
Our greatest strength as a human being:
Like a mold of playdough, the human being can mold and remold to whatever it desires. It’s fascinating when you really think about it.
Yet over time, we can forget that, and say things like “I’m too old for that”, or, “I’ll never be able to do that”. Our “playdough” stays in form for so long, it hardens. And we can barely move it, if at all.
However, with a single droplet of water at a time, one can start to soften the playdough. Indivisible to the eye at first, but over hundreds of droplets, allowing each to soak in, change starts to take place. The playdough moves again, restored.
Playdough will always be playdough.
We will always be malleable.
We just need to bring the discipline, patience, and hard work.
