For this week’s overview of December 31st through the January 5th 2019, we start our week off with ‘Fran” an oldie but a goodie of a lung burner workout for the last day of the year’s workout involving Thrusters and Pullups. On New Year’s day we are closed, but check SugarWOD for a workout that you can do while you are “Home Alone” of Jumping Lunges and Situps. Wednesday’s workout will bring out your inner “Air Walker” with Rowing, Double Unders and rounds of “The Chief” (Power Cleans, Pushups and Air Squats). Then Thursday’s session has heavy set of Push Presses then hopefully you won’t “Clothesline” yourself with this AMRAP of ascending reps of Push Presses, Toes to Bar and Box Jump Overs. For the first Friday of every month, we open up the gym for “Free Class Friday.” Bring your friends for this “Bee’s Knees” of a workout with Wallballs, Kettlebell Swings and Assault Bike. Finally for Saturday; finishing off this New Year’s week on top with “Low Five” a three 5 minute AMRAP of Rowing, Power Snatches and Lateral Barbell Burpees.
From CompTrain Mindset:
“When it’s obvious that the goal cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goal, adjust the action steps.” – Confucius
When obstacles arise, we will find ourselves at a crossroad.
One option is that we can allow the adversity to adjust our goal, moving into a state of compromise.
The other options is that we adjust the sails. While we keep the destination true.
If our reaction under adversity is to compromise the goal and make it a bit easier, we’re now simply continuing on to “check the box”. But goals aren’t meant to be checked – they are meant to change our lives.
And anything of that magnitude is going to mother-freaking-hard. We all can agree on that being the truth.
Let’s make it part of our identity – when times get hard, we go harder.
We find the way to make it, because it’s always there.
We just have to work hard enough to find it.
