For this week’s overview of November 19th through the 24th we start Monday off with a CompTrain benchmark strength complex. You have to be a “Macho Man” to hold onto the bar for all 9 repetitions of 3 Power Cleans, 3 Front Squats and 3 Push Jerks before dropping the barbell. Then for a classic move the weights faster for cardio we step into a Slim Jim “Randy Savage” AMRAP of “Macho Man” and Toes to Bar. On Tuesday take “Full Count” of who’s Kettlebell Swinging American style, Assault”ing the” bike and running away while carrying heavy objects all together in this 5 round triplet. Wednesday we look forward to another one of CrossFit’s benchmark workout “Christine”. Which utilizes the athletes bodyweight to determine how much weight is on the barbell for the Deadlift portion of a Row, Deadlift and Box Jump fitness session. Then for Thanksgiving our one class time for the day we will be open for is the 8:30 am class. We are now programming “Murph” two times a year. Once on Memorial Day and once on Thanksgiving. We do this workout to honor a fallen hero and to give thanks for our freedoms and the lives we get to live because of people like Michael Murphy. While “Murph” is a significant amount of volume, completing any version of this workout, whether it be half of the work or the full thing, is an honor to be had. Friday and Saturday we will be closed.
“Success is not owned. It’s leased. And rent is due every day” – J.J. Watt
We change ourselves, and it fights back against us.
We change the world, and it fights back against us.
This a truth about life that we recognize.
But this isn’t a bad thing. It’s a great thing.
Not only do we recognize that truth – we embrace it. The champion mindset is that of ever-fierce pursuit of betterment. A constant state to improve. If we cross a thousand finish lines, let’s establish another thousand. Not for any other reason than the unstoppable fiery purpose behind… To find the next best version of ourselves.
